Buildings have a intense and some times detrimental effect on the environment, which is why green building practices are so
important to reduce and perhaps one day eliminate those impacts.
The UK has committed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 20 per cent by 2010 and seeks a 60% reduction in emissions
by 2050.
Buildings account for:
Around 50% of total energy use;
25% of total water consumption;
27% of total carbon dioxide emissions to heat, light and power our homes.
However, Britain has the oldest housing stock in the developed world with more than 8.5 million properties over 60 years
old and at current demolition rates, the average house will have to last for 1000 years before it is replaced. It is vital
therefore to improve the environmental performance of our old housing stock.
New builds already have to comply with tougher building regulations and it is just a matter of time for the Code for Sustainable
Home to become compulsory. We want to be ahead of the game. With a health and efficient home.
The future belongs to everybody and sustainable ecological design significantly reduces undesirable human impacts on the
natural environment while at the same time improving quality of life and economic well-being.
That is why We Do Care.
